Stephenie Meyer Takes 'Breaking Dawn' Rated R Debate into Her Own Hands
Stephenie Meyer is stepping forward in the midst of the Breaking Dawn should-it-or-should-it-not be rated R debate. And guess what she's saying? She'll be there every day to make sure the movie accurately reflects her vision as the movie's latest producer. "It's really a lot about being...in the room," the Twilight author confides. "And it's going to be a lot of upheaval in my life, but I felt like it was important. And then also, it's the last one. So I kinda feel like, I'm going to commit to this for this year, I'll get it done, and then I won't do that again."
The suits at Summit still claim they can do the book justice without creating an R-rated movie. Producer Wyck Godfrey reveals, "I'm unwavering in my belief that these will be PG-13 movies. And really, I say that not because I know what we're shooting but because I feel that they should be. I feel like the audience of the books and the movies, many of them are under 18...I can't make an R-rated conclusion to the franchise."
Not to mention that Stephenie's Mormon faith counsels against watching R-rated movies. So she'll probably want to keep it PG-13 anyway.

I really loved all of the books and I'm not a 13 and under reader. I've been a little dissatisfied with the movies, particularly the third movie, Eclipse. Although the movies have tried to stay true to the books, I feel like there is a little lacking (especially in Eclipse) and that some of the key elements have been left out of the movie. I've read Breaking Dawn and I'm not sure how they will stay true to the books without making it an R rated movie. I believe something will be lost in the translation. Here is hoping the final installment in the Twilight series will not dissappoint.

Dear Stephenie Meyer:
Curse you for these books/movies about gay vampires. I am tired of
''ZOMG NEW PICS FROM THE NEW MOVIE!'' everyday, I don't care. I am sick and tired of being ask ''Edward or Jacob'', Then getting a dirty look when I say Team Alucard. So please stop with these books/movies. Or I will find you with my
Advancing Glacier. -Thanks.

why is it that a person who creates something with their own two hands, people always want to change or so called wanting to make it better. Changing things don't ways make things better. People have their own vision of the hard work, their the ones who should be able to make the changes if they want to change it. The twilight series is a pg-13 series, and it worked fine that way. So, why make it a R- rate movie, why fix something that isn't broken. It has grossed how much money on just being a pg-13 franchise.

I'm not a member of the 13 and under group; by the time Breaking Dawn comes out, I will be 21. I think Stephenie's input will make the movie a whole lot better. I think the books were way better than the movies with things like continuity and costuming. Some parts of the movies just did not make any sense. I was disappointed that they had left Carlisle and Alice's stories out of the movies. I thought Carlisle's was necessary in order to understand Bella and Carlisle's conversation about Edward's soul when he is fixing her arm in New Moon. Stephenie is very gifted and I think she will bring a lot of good to Breaking Dawn parts 1 and 2. Also, while everyone else seems to disagree I think that making a good movie that is suitable for the younger fans and older fans will not be impossible.

TEAM DRACULA!!
no but seriously. Authors should not have so much control over a movie. JK rowling had little to no say over the harry potter movies. They contacted her a bit just to make sure they wouldnt be leaving out anything that may be important for future plot points, but overall she was left out. AND THATS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE!

The studio should make an R movie, edit into a PG-13 version and release both. This way everyone will be happy. It would be a mistake to leave the crucial elements of breaking dawn out of the movie just because of an under 13 audience. In fact, the books were not intended to be PG-13 it was just Meyers luck that she was picked up by Little brown &Co as a young adult series.
